Why expand a shortened URL?
Short links make addresses easier to share, but they hide the destination behind at least one redirect. Expansion restores the context you need for link QA, campaign debugging and cautious browsing.
What expansion can and cannot prove
The report can reveal the current redirect path, final hostname and tracking parameters. It cannot guarantee that a destination is harmless: sites can change, behave differently by visitor, or deliver unsafe content after a valid redirect.

No. The request is made by the service and the result is displayed in the report. The destination page is not automatically opened in your browser.
Which short URL services are recognized?
The checker recognizes many common hosts, including bit.ly, t.co, tinyurl.com, lnkd.in, youtu.be, rb.gy and others. Unrecognized URLs can still be checked for redirects.
Is a successfully expanded URL safe?
Not necessarily. Expansion reveals routing information but is not a malware, reputation or phishing verdict.
Can I remove tracking parameters from the destination?
